Let’s be honest. How did you do over the holidays at sticking to your new lifestyle? I am coming clean – I ate lots of carbs over the last 3 weeks!
When I got back to town though, the first thing I did was eliminate all the junk food in my house that was left over from the holidays. Cookies went to work with me and all the rest of the items got thrown away – pretzels, chips, candy, etc.
So on New Years Day I started with weaning myself off the carbs. I don’t do cold turkey because I get headaches. For breakfast I had a keto apple cider donut and I had pork chops, sauerkraut and half a baked potato for dinner.
Next day was back to work and that made it easier to get back into my routine, but I still had some carbs because I had the other half of my baked potato with leftovers. Normally I don’t eat potatos, pasta or regular sugar.
A few days have gone by now and I’m back to my low carb keto lifestyle. I have sat down and renewed my goals. First one being that I AM happy with where I am in my journey. If I should lose a few more pounds that will be great, but one of the things that I have been figuring out over the last week is that if you aren’t happy with where you are – you will continue to be unhappy with where you are. It’s the “what you think is what is you get” syndrome.
I’ve been listening to the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. It is helping me to change how I think on a permanent basis! I would recommend it to everyone.
I recommend everyone sit down and do some goal setting for the year. Maybe you want to maintain where you are or maybe you have 100 pounds to lose. Remember write it down and commit it to paper and read it every day. We did a whole blog a while back on goal setting. https://low-carb-keto-lifestyle.com/2019/11/04/goals/ You can reference back to that if you are confused as to how to set goals.
Some of my goals for this year.
- Attend a leadership class with my company
- Trip to Greece with my daughter and granddaugther
- 100 new customers in my company
- Lose 5 more pounds
- Help other people with their health
- Rank up in my company
These are just a few. Some of them are very personal as well. I challenge you to sit down right now and write out 10 goals for 2020.
Have an awesome and fabulous day!
All the best for 2020!
